To inspire a healthy sense of competition, students of Imam Shafi(Rah)Mat. Hr. Sec. School have been allocated one of the four houses which symbolize the school’s values. Students develop a sense of belonging and a feeling of unity in being a part of a specific house.
The four houses are named Safa, Marva, Noor, Uhad. Each house is led by the House Mistress for a year. The Captain and Vice-captain guide their teams on all fronts and play a vital role in leading their team to victory in all events.
One main objectives of the House System is to foster in the student a sense of collective responsibility and unity. At the same time kindling and developing the social qualities latent in every student through healthy sense of competitions, among students of the four houses in various areas of scholastic/ co scholastic like Art, Math, English, Sports etc. Participating in such inter-house competitions not only gives the students a chance to display their talent but also helps them learn the valuable lessons on team work and selfless service.
The goals of the House System are to:
Promote healthy participation and competition in many activities. Provide opportunities for students from all cultures to interact and collaborate in a positive, constructive manner.
Benefits of the House System:
Positive self esteem amongst students and value of the ethos of the school community. Building of an individual’s strength within a group and bonds with other students of all ages. Peer support to combat bullying.
Promotion of the ‘Student Voice,’ Student Responsibility, Team skills, Leadership skills and Co-operation. Extra-Curricular activities which enrich broaden and round off the experience of our students. Development of personal and social skills and well-being.
